I sat out by the pool after lunch during the stay-over guest's *free time* and had a lovely power snooze.... whoops!
The only unfortunate thing that's going on is my right knee is really hurting. It started yesterday while I was running during cardio, and so I stopped. It felt fine hiking, but I decided to try running again this afternoon and now it REALLY hurts. Damn! So, I guess no more running for me. Which, surprisingly, sucks! It was a great way to push myself and see tangible progress. Oh well, I'll just stick to walking for the rest of the week and use the incline to push myself instead of speed.
OK, time to relax... but I'll leave you with this: did you know that McDonald's now offers oatmeal for breakfast? Read this article to find out why it's NOT a healthy choice!!

One of my favorite lines is:
A more accurate description than “100 percent natural whole-grain oats,” “plump raisins,” “sweet cranberries” and “crisp fresh apples” would be “oats, sugar, sweetened dried fruit, cream and 11 weird ingredients you would never keep in your kitchen.”YUCK - don't eat this crap!!
G'night :)
PS I've been getting lots of feedback about my blog, and it's now being listed on the Biggest Loser Resort blog!
On the topic of oatmeal, I've been making old fashioned oatmeal lately for breakfast - it only takes 10 minutes to simmer! It's not so hard! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour walks sound fabulous. I love the pictures! :-)
Checked in with you via your blog and am overwhelmed by your honesty and by your stamina in all areas (physical and emotional). The amazing capacity you're beginning to achieve in hiking and the binge on your first night out are both nothing more and nothing less than a part of your story.... the story you are starting to share... and it's already clear how many people need and want to be with you on this part of your journey. Me included. Thanks for making yourself so vulnerable and so strong in your writing and for making a place for me in your life last week.
ReplyDeleteRe-entry has been interesting. I've managed to have a serious work out (1 hour of serious cardio) each day so far and feel good about that. But it certainly isn't Fitness Ridge! Well, not sure anything short of basic training is.... Go box with a big black bag and give an extra punch for me!
i'm so happy for you, Barb
